Riding Group for ACTHA |
The days have cooled and fall is in the air. I am going to try and post something once a week. I know it has been a while since my last. Over the last couple weeks I have started to ride again. My friend Sandra and I went to an ACTHA ride @ Lillington, NC. There were about 50 riders, it was held @ the Andersen Creek Preserve. Very nice place you can trail ride there and in hunting season they have guided hunts. For those of you who don't know about ACTHA, it is a competitive trail ride. There are 6 obstacles that you are scored on how well you and your horse maneuver This is on a well marked trail of about 6 - 7 miles. Usually takes about 2 - 3 hrs. It is not a timed event, so there is no hurry. After the ride they have a meal and awards for the best riders and horse. This is a national organization that have rides going on all over the country.
